“I downloaded a movie online and it’s in AVI format, but when I try to play it in Windows Media Player it tells me one or more codec’s are needed to play the file. Where do I download the codec’s to play my video files on Windows Media Player?”
In order to play avi or divx files with Windows Media Player you will need the proper codecs. Codecs are needed to encode and/or decode your video files. You can download the K-Lite Codec Pack which comes with all the codecs you will need to play almost all video file types.
Another option would be just to download VLC Player which is a media player that can play just about anything you can throw at it without having to worry about downloading codecs packs.
