“How do I burn audio CDs on my Windows 10 machine? I have songs on my computer I want to make into music CDs for playing in my car.”
Windows 10 PC can create audio CDs without downloading any additional software. Windows 10 comes with Windows Media Player built into the operating system and it has the ability to burn MP3s from your computer to music CDs that can be played in any CD player.
1. Launch Windows Media Player. You can do this by clicking on the ‘Start’ menu and type Windows Media Player into the search field.
2. Head over to the top-right side of the media player window and click on the ‘Burn’ tab.
3. Find the MP3 song files and drag them into the ‘drag items here’ section of the window. This is your ‘burn list’ for your audio CD. You can drag the MP3 files from any of your Music or Album folders or even from your Windows Media Player Playlists.
4. Click on the ‘Burn Options’ icon to view options and to make sure you’re burning an audio CD, there should be a black dot next to ‘Audio CD’.
5. Click the ‘Start Burn’ icon when you’re finished dragging the MP3 files for the CD. Insert a compatible CD disc into your Windows 10 disc drive to begin creating your awesome new music CD.

You do not need to have the file you want to burn in the Library or on a playlist. It is possible to drag a file from Windows Explorer directly to the “to be burned” list.

The “start burn” icon does not work on Windows 10. It used to very nicely on Windows 7.
How can this be corrected? I am not “tech-savvy” so I need simple instructions.
Thank you.

My Windows Media Player won’t open!

Windows Media Player is gone as are all my files. Wish I hadn’t upgraded to Windows 10. I don’t understand how you can create a great Media Player and then remove it so that all one’s files disappear. Brilliant upgrade!

I am disappointed that Microsoft did not include a workable media player program with windows 10. I am sorry I upgraded

I have done all of this and burned my audio CD, but it won’t play in my car.

Windows 10 will not burn a CD. You can rip all day. Speechless as to why you would design an “upgrade ” without that capability. The irony is I didn’t ask for windows 10, my computer just automatically did it and I couldn’t stop it. I was perfectly satisfied with my windows 8.
