I currently do not have any spyware protection on my computer, but I do have anti-virus. What’s the best anti-spyware program out there? Could I use more than one?
It’s okay to have more than one anti-spyware program on a single computer. I use several different spyware protection programs on my computer and they are all free. Windows Vista comes with it’s own spyware protection called Defender and if you are using XP you can download it for free here. Spybot, Ad-Aware, and SUPERAntiSpyware.
I would recommend downloading them all because no one anti-spyware program can detect all spyware and adware, some anti-spyware programs will detect what others won’t. Remember to keep them updated and run scans with each program about once a week or more if you’re paranoid like me. Don’t run them all at the same time either that could really slow down your computer, just do one at a time.
