Hi there. First I just want to say THANKS!!, for your help with my last problem. Now lets get our thinking caps on!. I find when I’m in Windows Photo Gallery and I have edited any photos that have been downloaded before 31.07.08 and as I go back to the gallery, from the fix area, Windows says “A error is preventing photo gallery from saving this picture”?. Now I have done some investigating and found in properties of the photos in “Detail Area”+”Program name” it has version 1.0700 , and I found in the photos after 31.07.08 , it has Microsoft windows photo…, I can’t see how to change this ??.note I checked update history and there were a few updates on and before 31.07.08. Any ideas, I’m running Vista Home Premium Service pack 1.
Seems like people who were using Windows Photo Gallery for the longest time without any issues were all of a sudden hit with this “saving error” message. I did find a work around here you could try. I’ve read somewhere that a Microsoft tech said to reinstall Windows to fix the problem but that seems like a bit of overkill. Not much I can help you with here but offer some alternative free photo editing programs.
Try some of these popular free photo editing programs instead of using Windows Photo Gallery.
- Picasa – very powerful free photo editor from Google
- Photoshop Express – Adobe’s free version of Photoshop
- Paint.NET

It’s Paul her again, I must have cleaned my glasses as I have worked out how to locate the command line ” you have to hit on the veiw box” and then select columns ,from there you can select from a list. I found that windows media plyer is not set for file sharing away. Thanks any way , It was worth a go!!. I have put a request to microsoft support and we will see what they come up with. I will keep you posted on the out come . Regards PauL
