What are the optimal settings for creating a YouTube video so that you get the best look and sound online?
These are the spec’s that Youtube recommends for best quality video:
- MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format
- MP3 audio
- Video resolution: 480×360 or higher
- Frame Rate: 24fps or higher
Resizing your video to the specs above will help give you better quality looking YouTube videos. It’s also a good idea to keep your videos short because there is a 10min/100mb limit so the longer and larger you video file is the more compression will be made.
It’s important that the source video is high quality if you want to upload the best looking YouTube video. A video that has been compressed than uncompressed to different formats many times will have lost a lot of it’s original quality. Many videos on YouTube has been downloaded, than uploaded again and again making the video quality very poor. So choose a good orginal source when uploading a video to YouTube.
No matter what quality your original video is it’s not gonna look as good online cause YouTube compresses it to flash, but I hope these tips will give you better looking videos for everybody’s enjoyment.

just rmmbr that shit in = shit out.
if your source is shit, your output will be no different.
imo, put a high video bitrate and leave the audio uncompressed coz your video will still go through compression on youtube’s sever. (dont know if youtube supports PCM wav though)
