“For about the last 2 years, I have been transferring photos from my Sony Dig Camera to Windows Photo Gallery on computer. I could
rely till now (as even the Photo Gallery instructions indicate) to have ONLY the newest photos transferred. That is, till now! Now it’s a mess, for even the old ones get transferred & I end up with duplicates. Any way I can resolve this to the way it used to work, newest pics only? I’ve made a ton of phone calls and searched online without success of a solution.”
Sounds like you know what you’re doing having used Windows Photo Gallery for 2 years. Not sure if I can help you much but I do have some suggestions.
Try formatting your camera memory stick. Most cameras allow you to wipe the memory card clean and start over, but be sure to transfer all you new photos over to you computer first cause this will wipe the card clean.
You could also delete all the old photos that’s been successfully transfered over to the computer to prevent the camera from transfering those same photos again creating those annoying duplicates. You can let Windows Photo Gallery automatically erase photos from the camera after import as well.
Get the latest Windows Photo Gallery updates, I’m sure you’ve been doing updates but it’s worth repeating.
You could also try reinstalling Window Photo Gallery as well with instructions here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938275 be sure you have back ups of your photos just in case anything strange happens.
