“How do I connect PS4 controllers to the PS4?” I bought a new controller for my system but Im not sure how to sync it up.”
Connecting PS4 Controller:
1. Turn on the PS4.
2. Grab the PS4 controller you want to sync. Connect that controller using a USB cable to one of the ports in front of the PS4.
3. Press the ‘PS Home’ button to turn on the controller. The PS4 should now recognize the controller and assign it to 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th controller.
4. You should now be able to disconnect the cable and it should work wirelessly over Bluetooth. But keep it plugged in if it needs charging.
That is all you need to do for syncing a PS4 controller to your PS4 console. Just connect it using a USB cable.

I once had a brand new PS4 controller that would not sync no matter what cable I used. In my case it turned out the controller was defective. I returned it for a replacement and the replacement synced first time using the same cable. If you are having this same problem your controller may simply be faulty. Note: The controller I had an issue with was not the original controller that came with the system but single new one purchased later. I’m not sure how to exchange a controller that came included with the entire system.
