“How do you add Internet radio on your PSP?”
*Before you begin streaming Internet radio on the PSP you need will need to be connected to a WIFI network. A memory card in the PSP is also needed.
Sony keeps adding great features with each firmware update for the PSP. Internet Radio was added to PSP with the 3.80 firmware update. You may already have the latest firmware needed to play Internet radio on the PSP. To quickly check scroll to “Network” on the PSP and see if you have “Internet Radio” on there. If you see “Internet Radio” on your PSP then you don’t need a firmware update although you should still update for added features. If the “Internet Radio” is not on your PSP then you will need to update the PSP firmware. Get the latest PSP firmware from Sony.
Once you have the latest firmware we need to do a few things before we can start streaming Internet Radio.
Scroll to the “Network” icon then scroll down to “Internet Radio” and hit the X button.
You will see “About Internet radio” to continue hit the X button.
The PSP will now connect to the Internet. Select “Adding an Internet radio player. Now you will go to a web page with a number of different Internet Radio players to choose from. Hold the Square button and scroll down the page with the thumb stick. Click on “Add the player to Memory Stick Duo media” with the X button to download. Agree to the Licence agreement and save the file.
After the download is complete you will have Internet Radio Player icon in “Internet Radio”. Click on it, it will then ask if you want to run the plugin, select “Yes”.
When the PSP connect successfully to your network you can then start streaming radio to the PSP. It’s important to have a working Internet connection to the PSP before you can start playing Internet radio on the PSP. Here’s how to set up PSP Internet.
