How do I play .mkv files from my computer? I just downloaded a bunch of anime video files online and Windows Media player can’t play them. Are there any .mkv players out there to download for free?
Anime videos are commonly associated .mkv files and they get lots of support from the anime scene. VLC Player can play just about any file format known to man so it will play .mkv files . It’s a very small download and a wicked media player.
Here are some other media players that can also play .mkv files http://www.matroska.org/downloads/windows.html.

VLC Player – Awesome. Cool thing about .mkv’s is that it is a container for multiple languages and subtitles. You can watch the videos in their original Japanese which sounds less goofy then the dubs.
