How do I make my own website? Is it hard? I really don’t know much about programing please help I want to have my own website really bad.
Creating a website these days is so easy all you need are the right tools for the job. It really depends on which path you choose to take because there so many ways to do this. It can be as simple as signing up for a free account or it can take a little longer and a lot more steps if you decide you want to hand code everything yourself.
The first thing you should know before creating your website is a little “html” although it’s not necessary to learn html nowadays it will definitely come in handy. You can learn html and other web languages for free at W3 Schools. I would also recommend learning about “CSS” which stands for Cascading Stye Sheet. CSS allows you to customize and design web pages that can affects the whole website that way you only have to change the code in the css file instead of changing every individual html file.
Freewebs or Sitesled are a couple really good options for making your own website for free and they have lots of templates to choose from.
Or you can go with any of these popular blogging sites below. All you have to do create an account from the website and choose a template, and start adding content to your site.
If you want to have a website with your own domain name than you will need to register a name at a “domain registrar” like GoDaddy. Then you will need a place to “host” your website and for that you will need to find a hosting company. There are a ton of different hosting companies out there so you should have no trouble finding one.
Now you will need to create the proper html files that web browsers can read. For this you can use a commercial program like Dreamweaver or a free editor like NVU or you can even use Notepad in Windows. When you have the html files you can then upload those files from your computer to the server provided by your hosting company via FTP (file transfer protocol). If you decide you want something more like a blog than you could install a content management system (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla onto the hosting server.
There are of coarse a lot more steps in between I didn’t cover here but I think this will push you in the right direction. Good luck making your website.
