I’m buying a new computer should I buy a Windows Vista computer or stick with Windows XP. I heard Windows Vista isn’t very good.
If you are buying a new computer than buying it with Windows Vista is a good way to go. Microsoft will eventually drop support for Windows XP because they want people to use Vista.
Keep in mind that older hardware may not work in Vista due to lack of drivers. If you have older hardware you plan on using with your new PC than check the manufacturers website for proper Vista drivers. Older printers will probably have trouble running in Vista, so check to see if the company offers Vista drivers.
Software can also be an issue, although most big name commercial software will be Vista compatible although you may need to upgrade to the latest version. I guess that’s how they make money.
Windows Vista isn’t the greatest operating system and isn’t much improvement over Windows XP besides looking prettier but there are some security improvements. If you do buy a new computer with Vista on it you will need a good amount of ram get at least 2 gigs. I use Vista regularly and have no troubles with it, I also have a XP machine which I don’t use it because it looks really old and outdated compared to Vista. Why buy a new computer with a old operating system.
