I’m really desperate I’ve tried toggling the hold button and holding the center and bottom buttons on my Ipod Nano but that didn’t work it’s still frozen. I was trying to upload songs onto my Ipod when I noticed nothing was happening so I disconnected the Nano and now it’s frozen. I can’t do anything on my Ipod now, nothing works on the screen not even the dimmer. Please help.
Yep sounds like your Ipod Nano is frozen. So here’s how to reset the Nano or any of the Ipods with the scroll wheel. Press and hold the Center and the Top (Menu) buttons for about 6-10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. You may need to repeat this several times.

Worked like a charm for me too! Thanks! Apple does not seem to make this suggestion on their site, so I was glad to find this one.
Thanks again!

These iPods are quirky, those instructions above have worked for me before. Apple should have installed an on and off switch, I guess I have to wait for it to run out of power now before I can do anything with it, Lol and then plug it back in my computer so I can do something with it.
Brian says
I feel like I might be ruining the buttons on this device now… by pressing so hard. Lol, but seriously, they should just have a switch for it. Also mouses that come with Macintoshes should have a left clicker, what does Apple live in the 1980’s? By the way you can press control and then click = left click for Macintosh single clicker things, but they really need to get into this or the last two decades regarding mouses. lol. Macontosh retro-style.
Back to this stupid ipod, hmm yeah.
