“How do I the iPhone 3GS Voice Control? What are all the voice commands I can use?”
The iPhone 3GS allows you to use your voice to make phone calls or control music. Its a nice little feature for hands free operation especially when driving.
Here’s how to use the iPod 3GS Voice Control:
Press and hold down the Home button for a few seconds until the Voice Control pops up and makes a beep sound. Another way to bring up the Voice control is through the iPhone headset. Press and hold down the center button on the headset.
With the Voice Control up on the screen use any of the following voice commands.
iPhone Calling Voice Controls:
Call a Number – say “call” or “dial” now say the number.
Call someone from your Contacts – say “call” or “dial” now say the name of the person from your Contacts. If that person has a home and a work number you will need to say “home” or “work”.
Fix a mistake – say “no”, “not that one”, “not that” or “nope” to make corrections.
iPhone Music Voice controls:
Play music – say “play”
Pause music – say “pause”, or “pause music”
Skip song – say “next song”
Previous song – say “previous song”
Play album – say “play”, then the “album”
Play artist – say “artist”
Play playlist – say “playlist” then the name
Shuffle Playlist – say “shuffle”
More info on the song playing – say “what’s playing”, “who is this song by”, “what song is this”, or “who sings this song”
Get Genius to play similar songs – say “Genuis” then say “play more songs like this”, or “play more like this”
Cancel Voice Control – say “cancel”
Make dinner – say “make me dinner”, ok maybe not but perhaps in future updates.
Try to speak directly into the iPhone’s mic like you were talking to someone on the phone, and speak in a clear and natural voice. When speaking pause slightly in between words, and use full names.
