Is the Vista startup sound file starting to drive you mad. Here is how you can disable the Vista startup sound clip.
- Click on the Start button
- In the search field type in “Sound” without quotes
- Click on “Sound” from the results
- A dialog box will appear. Click on the “Sounds” tab at the top
- Near the bottom there is a option to “Play Windows Startup sound” make sure to uncheck this option to turn off start up sound
- Click “OK” and you are finished.

My sound still will not turn off. I also have all system sounds turned off, but the startup sound won’t go away.
