How to tether Android phone to Windows 7 laptop:
1. Connect your Android phone to the laptop using a USB cable. You should see USB icon appear at the very top of your phone’s notification bar. It will also say ‘Connected as a media device’, we can just ignore that.
2. Find and tap ‘Settings’ on your phone.
3. Under ‘Wireless & Networks’ select ‘More…’.
4. Tap on ‘Tethering & portable hotspot’.
5. Select ‘USB tethering’ so a green check mark appears.
6. Your Windows 7 laptop is now tethered to your phone and sharing it’s data connection.
7. When you want to stop sharing your data connection, simply disconnect the USB cable or go back into your phone’s ‘Settings’ and uncheck USB tethering.
