How do you save flash videos from video sites like YouTube to your computer for play back later?
Do you use Firefox? If you don’t you really should cause it’s pretty awesome browser with a lot of plug-ins to customize your browser to fit your needs.
There is a plug-in for Firefox called DownloadHelper that will download and save flash videos from YouTube and other popular video sites.
- Get Firefox if you don’t already have it
- Install DownloadHelper
- Find a video from Youtube, when you’re on the video page click on the three little balls icon next to your address bar
- Select the flv file and choose where you want to save the Youtube video and you’re done
If you don’t want to use Firefox you can use online services that will help you save your Youtube flash videos. These web based video downloaders are pretty simple to use all you have to do is copy the video url and paste that url on the website then the site will give you a download link. Some of these sites will even convert the flash videos into a different format such as iPod or PSP so you can take it with you.
