“I want to sell my Playstation 4 so I want to erase my saved profiles. How do I reset the PS4 to the original factory settings?”
On the PS4 the process of resetting the system is called “Initialization”. This will delete all the saved data and users from the Playstation 4. It’s important that you back up any important data on the PS4 before resetting it because once it’s gone it’s gone forever.
How to Reset PS4:
1. Go to ‘Settings’.
2. Choose ‘Initialization’.
3. Select ‘Initialize PS4’. Now follow the onscreen instructions.
Important: Don’t turn off the PS4 until the system is finished initialization. You could dame the system if you do so.
Resetting the PS4 will not restore the firmware to the previous system software version.
