“How do you reset the HTC Touch HD?”
A good time to reset the HTC Touch HD device is when it seems to be running slower than normal or when a program is acting weird.
A soft reset of the the device will shut down all programs running and clear anything active in the memory. Another time when a soft reset might be needed is after a program installation. Remember to save and back up anything that’s running in a program or it’s gonna get lost after resetting.
Here’s how to do a soft reset:
- Take of the back cover.
- Press the “RESET” using your stylus. It’s located between the storagae cards slots and the SIM card.
- The HTC Touch HD will reset and restart.
Hard Reset
When a soft reset doesn’t solve your problem than a hard reset might be needed. A hard reset puts the phone back to factory settings and turn it the way it was when you turned it on for the very first time. Only the Windows Mobile software and the default programs will be installed which means any other programs, and data files will be erased so back up accordingly.
- Turn off the phone.
- Press and hold the “Volume up” and “Volume Down” buttons and then press the “Power” button once briefly.
- Keeping holding the two volume buttons until you get the following message:
- You can now release the two volume buttons.
- To do the hard reset press the “Volume Up” button or press any other buttons to cancel out.
