“I just bought the new iPhone 3GS and I love this shiny thing. How do I record videos on the new iPhone?”
You want to become the next Spielberg? Well now you can because the iPhone 3GS comes with the ability to record and edit your own videos.
Here’s how to record video on the new iPhone:
Touch the Camera icon on your iPhone screen.
Now you should see what the camera on the iPhone is picking up on the screen. Look on the bottom right hand side and you will notice a slider with a photo camera icon on the left and a movie camera on the right. Touch and slide the slider to the right hand side towards the movie camera.
When you’re ready to start recording video press the big red button in the middle.
When the iPhone is recording video the red button will be blinking and a timer will appear on the top. Touch the red button again to stop recording. You can also use the headset to control Start/Stop by pressing the center button.
To view the video hit the Photo icon from the main menu. Tap the white play button in the middle of the screen to begin playback.
How to edit your Video:
You have the ability to cut frames from the begining and the end of your video.
When you’re viewing the video tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the editing interface. On the top of the screen you will see the film strip with each individual frames. Touch and drag the yellow frame viewer to the left or right to select the part you want cut out. When you’re happy with your selected frames press the “Trim” button to delete the frames. Use the “Trim” button with caution cause once it’s gone it’s gone forever.
Now that you have your masterpiece you can show it off to the world by pressing the little box with an arrow sticking out of it on the bottom left hand side. You can email the video to grandma or upload it to your Youtube account.
