“I sometimes don’t want my iPad to sync when I plug it in the computer, how do I stop it from syncing?”
Here’s how to prevent the iPad from syncing:
1. Open iTunes
2. Click Edit > Preference on a PC, Mac users click iTunes > Preference.
3. Select Device.
4. Now click on the check box to select ““Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically.”
Next time you plug in the iPad it will not automatically sync up with iTunes.

I have that box checked and it still syncs every time I plug it in… Frustrated because it takes so long. Tried unchecking it, and closing and opening itunes… Let’s see what happens… just finished Syncing again (Maybe could have unplugged the ipod at this point- to keep it from syncing). Going unplug Ipod and plug it back in… see what it does?… That didn’t work either… it is auto Syncing . Ok, tried unplugging and plugging again and it seems to not be syncing… I think the last time… there was an error window still open (picture that didn’t sync) when I unplugged and plugged it back in… it may have worked. Trying one more time… It seems to be working this time. So, People uncheck that box, turn off itunes, turn it back on, and recheck it again… Maybe it will work for you too.

Syncs anyway to restore the location data Ips and inform apple of any new photo or video thumbnails, so they can see everything your doing, never know right, maybe you have great ideas for a film apple can steal
