The recycle bin in Windows Vista sits on the desktop by default but if you want to hide it here’s how:
How to hide recycle bin from desktop:
- Click on the “Start” logo
- Select the “Control Panel”
- Click on “Appearance and Personalization”
- Now select “Personalization”
- On the left side click on “Change desktop icons”
- To remove the recycle bin from the desktop “uncheck” the Recycle Bin
- Press “OK” to save
