“I’m borrowing a PS3 from a friend, he’s using HDMI cable with his HDTV but I don’t have HDMI connection on my TV. Are there any other ways to connect the PS3 to my TV without the HDMI cable?”
There are several ways to connect the PS3 to a HDTV or Standard TV.
The best way if possible would be HDMI because you get HD quality video and audio all in one single neat cable.
The next best option would be Component AV cable because this connection also offers HD quality output but has a few more connections (5 in total) unlike the HDMI.
S-Video can be used with the PS3 but you will not get HD output, you’ll get standard video quality which is 480i.
The last option is the Composite AV cable, which comes with the PS3 and is your best bet for connecting the PS3 to your TV. Every TV has these connections. But like the S-video your output will not be in HD but 480i.

Does the PS3 Fat Component cable the same with the Slim/Super Slim PS3? I’m needing to get another since the Yellow light of death and would like to get a new one without having to buy a new component cable.
