Have you ever tried sorting and rearranging all your games and apps on the iPhone or iPod touch? Then you know how annoying and frustrating it can be. Well iTunes 9 is here to save the day and your sanity.
One cool new feature that was added to iTunes 9 was the ability to sort and arrange all your apps and games within iTunes. This makes managing icons much easier.
Update to iTunes 9 if you haven’t already.
Plug in the iPod touch or iPhone, launch iTunes and click on your iPod or iPhone under “Devices”.
Click on the “Applications” tab.
The first half of the page is “Syncing Applications” and by default everything is checked of to sync but uncheck any you do not wish to sync.
The right hand side of the page is where we can begin sorting and moving our apps around.
To move an application simply click and drag it. Select different pages on the right hand side.
If there was an app I want to move from “Page 1” to “Page 5” Click on Page 1 then just click on that application icon than drag it from Page 1 over to Page 5 on the right hand side and that app will appear on that page where I can than place it where ever I wanted on that particular page.
Don’t forget to hit the “Apply” button to save changes!
Tip: Hold the “CTRL” key and click icons to move multiple apps.

In iTunes, all of my iPod screens appear, but they are grayed and I cannot click and drag the icons. If I click sync, then the iPod screen is no longer grayed, but most of the icons are gone. How do I get the two to agree with each other? Thanks.

I do all of that but whenever I update my aps on my ipod, it now throws them all out of all the boxes I made and now it also alphabetizes them all!!!! So I have to keep starting all over….any way to stop this??
