Love your blog, heard you call in to Leo LaPorte and now have you on my home page! I am looking for a free program to give me info on who is visiting a website, which pages, etc. Can you please suggest one? I have Googled web stats but want a referral before downloading. I help local charities keep up their web pages so I try to keep everything as safe and easy as possible. Thank you!
I use Google Analytics which is free with lots of useful statistics such as a map that shows the locations of your visitors, the keywords which were used to find you site in a search engine, referring sites, specific page views, lots of percentages, and there’s even a pie chart (can’t go wrong with that).
If I wasn’t using Google Analytics as my main web stats tool I would probably be using StatCounter which is also free and from a very reputable company.
Both are very easy to use, you get a special code to paste at the bottom (do this for each page you want to track)of your webpage and voila.
