Does Xbox One play Xbox 360 Games

So which games are backwards compatible with the Xbox One?

There is now a huge list of games you can play on your Xbox One console. Games from the Xbox 360 as well as the orignal Xbox console can be played on the Xbox One. And the best part is that its free of charge.

So how exactly does the Xbox One compatibilty work? Digital games that you’ve purchased through the store will show up in your ‘Ready to Install’ section on your Xbox One console.

For games discs (games must be part of the Back Compat game catalog), simply insert the disc into the Xbox One console to download the game. The game disc will need to remain inside the Xbox One to be playable.

Xbox Live is not a requirement for playing backward compatible games but you will need Xbox Live if you want to play online multiplayer just like with any new titles on the Xbox One.
