I’m going on a trip for a few days so I downloaded some movies online for my laptop to watch. When I play the movie I can hear the movie audio but I don’t see the video. The movie is a .avi if that helps I’m not sure what that means cause I’m not a computer person. Any ideas would be helpful thanks.
If you can hear the movie but can’t see the picture that usually means your computer doesn’t have the proper codec for viewing the movie file. I have the perfect solution for that, download VLC media player which is free and contains no spyware . VLC can play just about every single file format known to man including AVI, DivX, DVD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4. After downloading VLC you should have no problems playing your pirated umm I mean personal movies.
If you want to keep using your existing movie player than you can download the K-Lite Codec Pack which is a collection of all the different codecs for encoding/decoding all the various movie formats.

after downloading the codex files will the movie play properly if it is burnt to a disc.
