“Is there an auto-sort that can manage sorting everything at once instead of manually moving one icon at a time?”
With all the great apps available on iTunes its easy to fill up your iPhone with apps especially free ones. Unfortunately there are no iPhone icons sorting app right now, and it’s kinda to bad you can’t sort your iPhone apps by popularity or by specific categories. It’s up to you to sort through and move each app one by one and I know how slow this method can be.
Here are a few methods I like for sorting my iPhone/iPod touch apps:
1. Categories – I like to keep my productivity tools on the first and second page for quick and easy access. Then I like putting my web apps after, and last things I categorize are my games.
2. Popularity – Putting popular apps on the first few pages will save a few swipes of the finger.
3. Alphabetically – A-Z is a simple way that cuts the confusion.
4. Paid vs. Free – I sometimes like to keep my paid stuff up front signifying the apps importance.
5. Just let it be – Just let it go wherever it happens to be.
Some interesting apps for quick searching of iPhone apps.
Dock 3.0 – an app for jailbroken iPhone that allows for quick scrolling of apps without going back to the main screen.
QuickGold – another app for jailbroken iPhone that allows you to search through apps by typing the first few characters.
