“How do I turn my Android phone (Google Nexus) into a wireless WiFi hotspot?”
Probably one of the coolest features for Android mobile devices is the ability to turn on WiFi to create your very own hotspot so other WiFi capable devices (laptop, iPad, tablet) can connect using the Wi-Fi hotspot created by your Android phone or tablet.
How to use Android as a Wifi hotspot:
1. Find and tap on ‘Settings’.
2. Under ‘Wireless & Networks’, tap on ‘More…’.
3. Select ‘Tethering & portable hotspot’.
4. Select ‘Portable WiFi hotspot’ to turn it on. A green check mark should appear. This means your hotspot has been turned on.
5. Select ‘Configure WiFi hotspot’ to do things like changing the the Wifi name and password. Typing in a good password will prevent someone else from using your mobile data. Tap ‘Save’ to finish.
6. You should see a wireless Wifi icon at the very top of your phone when WiFi is turned on. Turn off hotspot by going back into your Settings.
7. Enjoy your wireless hotspot.
