Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3

“What is the better system? A Playstation 3 vs Xbox 360, I have heard a lot of good and a lot of bad about both, like the red ring of death, on Xbox and how often it occurs. Then I have heard that the Playstation 3 sucks on game selection. I cant buy both, and i want the best possible for the money. What do you think?”

You’re right that both game consoles have a lot of good things going for it. Both consoles have excellent titles out right now so it all depends on what type of games you like to play. It seems most of the same games are available for both the 360 and PS3 but there are some exclusives that may have you leaning towards one side and away from the other. Xbox 360 has the Gears of War and Halo franchise and PS3 has Resistance and Metal Gear series. Check out each consoles game library and see which games you want to play the most, I say “most” because there will be games you want to play on both systems but which ones do you really really want to play?

Do you want to play Blu-Ray movies? Than the choice is easy, the PS3 comes with a Blu-Ray player built in.

Online play is free on the PS3, and for the 360 there is a membership fee.

If price is a big issue the the Xbox 360 may be the one for you, Xbox 360 Arcade Bundle starts at 199.99. The lowest PS3 price is 399.99.

The only issue I have with the Xbox 360 is it’s reliability, there has been a good number of Xbox 360 hardware failure due to possible heating issues commonly called “Red Rings of Death” read about it on Wikipedia. As of October Xbox 360’s are being built with the “Jasper” chipset which is suppose to cause less heat and hopefully make the 360 more reliable. So how can you tell which 360 has the Jasper chipset? I personally own a Playstation 3 and here’s why I thought it was better, PS3 or Xbox 360.
