Wireless N router for my wireless G laptop
March 28, 2008
I have a laptop with with wireless G, if I buy a wireless N router will that make it faster?
If you bought a wireless N router it would not improve your data transferring speed because you have a wireless G in that laptop although a wireless N router will improve the range of your access so you would be able to get access further away from the wireless N router. If you want to improve the speed than you need to have wireless N router and a wireless N card on the laptop.
So if speed is important to you than you will need to replace your current G router with an N router and than purchase a external N adapter for your laptop because you only have G built into the laptop. It is recommended that you buy the router and external adapter from the same company for improved compatibly.
