What’s the difference between slr and point and shoot digital cameras

What’s the difference between SLR(single lens reflex) and point in shoot. Let’s look at what these cameras have in common, they both have lens, digital sensor that captures the picture, a computer chip, and a memory slot where the pictures get saved. Point and shoot cameras has a few advantages over the mighty SLR, they are relatively small in size , many can record videos, and ease of use. The point and shoot cameras makes alot of desisions for you this is great for beginners or someone who just wants to press a button.

Now lets take a look at some of the SLR advantages, able to change lens, much faster than the point and shoot, better in low light situations, and taking pictures are much more rewarding. There are a few disadvantages though which include, steep learning curve it may take awhile before you feel comfortable taking pictures, they aren’t cheap and they are bigger than most point and shoot cameras.
