What are the requirements for vista

Vista Home Basic Version, this is the cheapest version available and does all the basic things. The cool looking Aero desktop effects is not included in this edition, and some applications and features are also excluded such as Windows Movie Maker, Windows Media Center, Scheduled Backup just to name a few. Here are the requirements for Vista Home Basic:
- 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
- 512 MB of ram
- 20 GB hard drive with 15 GB of free space
- Support for DirectX 9 graphics and 32 MB of graphics memory
- DVD-ROM drive to install Vista
- Audio Output
- Internet access to activate Vista
These are Vista system requirements for Vista Premium (recommended), Business, and Ultimate:
- 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
- 1 GB of ram
- 40 GB hard drive with 15 GB of free space
- Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB of memory
- DVD-ROM drive for installation
- Internet Connection

15GB is how much space a typical Vista install will need on the hard drive.
