I have an older rear-screen projector Hitachi TV. (No DVI or HDMI ports.) The highest res inputs it has is component (YPrPb). I’m currently using a Radeon 9200 video card with S-Video out to connect to the TV. The problem is, even at a low res like 800×600, the type on the screen is still just too blurry to read. The TV is capable of 1080i through the Component input jacks. Is there such thing as a VGA > > Component adapter, or should I be looking at buying a new video card with a DVI connector, then using a DVI > Component adapter to break it out to the 3 cables required by the TV?
Blue Jeans Cable which I really like for good quality cables at cheap prices has VGA to Component cables for a decent price. http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/component/vgatocomponent.htm/ Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but it’s worth a shot.

Since I submitted my question I’ve learned more. VGA to Component does not work unless the video card in the computer supports such a break-out scheme. Even then, it’s usually an S-Video-like DIN plug that provides the break-out to Component. OR, one could buy a transcoder for over $100. I opted to buy a $25 ebay Radeon 8500 video card with a DVI jack, and then bought a $10 DVI > Component adapter. About $35 total!
Thanks for your answer!
