It's also possible to stream to the PS3 and other devices using Mezzmo - it will transcode incompatible files on the fly for you and is easy to setup and use.

[...] Just plug the PS3 or Xbox 360 into your router, get Windows Media Player 11 and tell it to allow the PS3 and to share your Videos folder, boom you're done, no need to use a flash drive. Been doing this since Christmas (just got a PS3) and it's amazing. Here's a link with pictures: How to stream Media to the PS3 with Windows Media Player [...]

Hi, I had a problem with media sharing being disabled. After hunting through net forums I resolved the problem through this site: http://www.dannydouglass.com/post/2007/12/16/Media-Sharing-Bug-Fix-for-Windows-Vista.aspx
Although ps3 only streams music and doesnt ever detect pictures from the pictures folder and video from the video folder. Any ideas?

I followed those steps and it worked perfectly. I then upgraded my Security Software to AVG Internet Security 8 and now My PS3 can't find media player anymore (I have windows xp) I can't seem to find the setting to fix this. Any ideas?
