How to delete search history in Google

November 27, 2007

Your search history is saved by the browser not by Google or whichever search you use. So deleting your search history will be different depending on the browser you are using.

Internet Explorer 7:

  • Click on the “Tools” menu
  • Click the “Internet Options” at the bottom
  • Under the “General” tab click on “Delete…” button
  • A new dialog box will appear and will give you the option to delete Internet temp Files, cookies, history, forms, and your passwords
  • Press the “Delete History…” button and confirm or press the “Delete All” button to remove everything at once

Firefox users:

  • Select “Tools” on the menu bar
  • Scroll down to “Clear Private Data” and click on it
  • That’s it, your search history has been removed
