How to clear internet history

Clear Address Bar

Have you been surfing naughty sites and need to clean your tracks. I will show you some different ways to clean your internet history. The first one we will clear is the address bar, this is a drop down menu that is saved by the browser.

If you are using Internet Explorer do this:

  1. Go to Tools on top of the browser
  2. Go to Internet Options than the General tab
  3. Select the Clear History button. You can disable the history function, set Days to keep pages in history to zero (’0′)
  4. Select OK to finish

For Firefox users here are the steps:

  1. Select Tools menu
  2. Go to Options
  3. Privacy > History
  4. Select Clear. You can disable the history function, set Remember visited pages for the last X days to zero (’0′)
  5. OK to finish

Safari users:

  1. Go to History on the top menu
  2. Select Clear History at the bottom

Clear Google Toolbar History

Next we will clean up our Google Toolbar History.

  1. Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar and a drop-down menu will appear
  2. Click the Clear Search History
  3. To disable the History function on the Google Toolbar go to Options from the toolbar and uncheck Drop-down search history

Search Box History

The last on we will look at is the Google Search Box History, you know the one where you are typing and different search terms will come up as you type along.

Clear Search Bar History

Internet Explorer users do this:

  1. Go up to Tools
  2. Go to Internet Options then Content tab
  3. Find Personal information , click AutoComplete.
  4. Choose to Clear Forms. Let’s also disable this feature by un-checking the Forms box
  5. OK to finish

Firefox:

  1. Tools menu.
  2. Click Options
  3. Privacy
  4. Now Uncheck the “Remember what I entered in forms”
  5. OK to finish

Safari users:

  1. Find the Safari menu and choose Preferences.
  2. From pop up menu, choose Autofill.
  3. Go to Other forms
  4. Choose the Edit button.
  5. There will be list of sites for which AutoFill is used on, choose Google.com > Remove > Done
