“How do I change my default email? I use Firefox and when I click on a mail link from a website it opens Thunderbird by default. I don’t use Thunderbird though I only use Gmail. Is there a way to open Gmail instead?
Firefox makes it pretty easy to change your default email client.
Open Firefox.
Click on “Tools” then “Options”, or for Mac and Linux users Click “Firefox” then “Preference”.
Click the “Applications” tab.
Scroll down the list of applications till you see “mailto” and right beside that click on the the button for a list from a drop down menu.
Select “Use Gmail” and click “OK”.
Now “Gmail” should launch when instead of another email client.
