How can I show hidden files in XP

October 31, 2007

This takes a little digging but here’s how to show hidden files and folders in XP, this will also work on Vista:

Go to “START”, click on the “Control Panels”, select “Folder Options”

You will now get the folder options dialog box, click on the “View” tab on top

Now look down in the advanced box below and you should see “Show hidden files and folders” select this option and click “Apply”

That’s pretty much it, you should now be able to see all the hidden files and hidden folders in Xp and this works in Vista too.
