“One of my Facebook friend disappeared from my list but I didn’t remove them. Is it normal when friends disappear from your list?”
This isn’t a Facebook bug or anything and friends will not disappear off your list for no apparent reason.
There could be a couple of reasons why your “friend” is no longer on your list.
1. Your friend might have deleted you from their “Friends List” which would them remove them from yours. I know the truth hurts but accept it and move on.
2. The friend might have deactivated or deleted that Facebook which would remove them from any friends list they might be on. If that person every decides to enable the account again then he or she will return to any friends list they were on.

The same thing happened to me with about 10 friends.ı also found some of my friends were on my deleted and blocked list.
Also ı do not agree with the explaınatıon mentoned at the top of the page from facebook.Anyone can tll me wahts goıgn on?
Same is happening with my account, I’m wondering whether to start a new FB account. Just before christmas I had 4 new friends, my total actually went down by one! So annoying

re: Facebook friend not being there…..this person had just confirmed as being a new friend today. yet they’re not on there.one other person had confirmed today as well, yet they’re showing.
It happened to two friends of mine. They disappeared for two days from my list, and just today they appeared again. Weird…
I lost 3 friends without a reason, at once. I think there is a problem with Facebook engine which MUST be fixed.

I have blocked a friend and then unblocked them to see what would happen – now it shows that we are not friends anymore – is that because I blocked them or because they unfriended me after they saw their block? Thanks for responses.

I had a friend deleted from my facebook account Ithought the same thing too did they delte me, and why? I talked to her and she said she didnt and said she dosent know whats going on with facebook either. I’m not Happy with the tech answer given above thats a bunch of Bolona! if you ask me .
My wife was my friend on facebook (of course) but I noticed that she, among others had disappeared off my friends list – I’m sure she didn’t delete me!
Could it be that facebook has disabled their account? This has happened to me, and it has been a nightmare due to their poor/nonexistent customer service. I am at their mercy now, awaiting them to review my appeal email.
this sucks my gf disappeared from my friendslist and i disappeared from her friendslist, i asked if she deleted me and she said no so that’s kinda annoying…
Yes, this is very strange. I’ve probably lost around 50. Maybe I did lose some legitimately by them defriending me, but some of the people I see that are not my friend any more makes no sense at all. This makes it so awkward when the person is just an acquaintance. For example, I have a girl at work who I was kind of interested in but never really talked to her. I was no longer her friend on FB after just being friends on there for a few months. It’s weird cause we still say hi and are cordial towards one another. I don’t think she deleted me nor do I think she knows that I’m no longer friends with her on there.
I actually got conformation by a childhood friend for 25 years that this is indeed some sort of bug going on. We had written on each others wall discussing something and then a week later, he was no longer my FB friend. He had not deleted his account and it seemed like he got offended when I asked him if he could have mistakenly defriended me. In hindsight, I feel pretty stupid even asking him that.
This is a big problem for FB and I think the “official” answer to this question, up top, is utter garbage. I have about 400 friends so I don’t have the time or even the memory to be able to see who exactly is falling off my friends list. Major fail on FB’s part.
Yes this is real. I have lost some friends over the years. Some I have assumed deleted me so no biggie. Screw em, right? Well there are some people who I know for fact wouldn’t drop me. So now I feel kinda stupid cause I am not sure who really dropped me and who didn’t. And it is frustrating because I know they are probably thinking I dropped them. SO irritating!
I have had 256 friends on Facebook, and a day later I cheched my friends list again and saw that were were only 251! 3 of my good friends had gone and I can’t search them up, and I can’t contact them to ask if they have deleted they’re Facebook account, because I lost their number. I don’t know WHAT has happened, but I’m really sure that they would not have blocked or defriended me, because we’re good buddiess!

thanks facebook, but i dont think my dead friend has blocked me from the grave. my friend has died and we still write on his wall and tag photos, but his profile picture has disappeared …? he couldnt do that..
i can access his page thru a previously tagged photos, but cant tag new photos of him.

My wife keeps disappearing from my list as well…..Extremely annoying….she’s not doing it.
The latest was that after disappearing again, she actually sent me a request, I accepted, was her friend and within 5 minutes, couldn’t view her page. I got a message to “Add as friend”. I clicked, she accepted, and we were once again friends….only to find that in 5 minutes or so she was again no longer my friend. Thank God she loves me….
This is definitely a bug….I’ve had friends disappear, messaged them asking if they’d unfriended me and they hadn’t….though I’d unfriended THEM. How lame is FB????
Why it it suddenly some of my Friend’s photos have stopped appearing on the left hand side of my FB page but if I click on the pencil thing on the left to show all Friends, they they appear?
I’m relieved to see other people here with the same problem. And annoyed at FB to no end. Now I don’t know whether to confront the girl I’ve been seeing for the past few months to ask if she’d deleted me for no reason – or just stay cool and wait for the bug to correct itself, but then risk HER thinking that I did the deleting. This is maddening.

I’m having the same problem too. This has been going on now for awhile, Everytime I gain 2 or 3 friends, the next day when I log on to my account I see that I’ve lost 1 or 2 more friends. Their profile pictures are gone and are replaced with a default blank pic. When I try to click on their profile I get a messages that says page not found. very frustrating. It’s getting worse by the day.
I lost forty friends like in just two minutes! THIS IS A BUG -Facebook- anty up and stop making excuses…use all your huge profits and brain power and fix the problem. I dropped from 300 to 261 friends….there are issues and no they did not drop me all coincidentally at the same time, and nor I them. Can you guys just bloddy well fix the problem already???? The same thing happened to me. A friend of mine disappeared from my Friendlist. The next day that friend appeared again. It happened a few times. Is there a ghost on Facebook???

This is nonsense saying it’s not a bug. A friend of mine has vannished from facebook. Like if I search her name she’s not there atall. Yet she keeps emailing me asking why I never talk to her on FB lol. The problem seems intermittant, sometimes she’s there and on friends. Sometimes she’s just there but not on friends. Sometimes she’s not even in the search. Hoasim’s problem seems to match.
It’s quite obvious facebook has some odd limited bug system. I have added more than 10 new people within past week BUT my friendslist number keeps decreasing. I just by random discovered that a friend of mine suddenly has went into ‘non friend’ yet the subscription remained 100% (I saw a post by her on my Home wall, didn’t comment, went back to her profile to comment but couldn’t). And she said she hasn’t deleted me. Does fb have something against people adding friends or do they have some odd limitation? Srsly!

My bloody girlfriend, stole my password and she kept deleting all the chicks I had on my facebook, at first I thought it was a bug, then I found her do that and did the same, deleted all he male friends!
So make sure your gf/bf doesn’t know your password.
Somehow my brother got deleted and blocked of my Facebook, but he is not on my block list nor I am on his so I don’t know what’s going on!!! I can’t even search for him . It’s like he just vanished comPletly
A friend got angry with me because he thought I deleted him from FB, when I didnt!! Even when I told him I didnt, I dont think he believed me.
Quite a few friends have disappeared over the years and I let it go but I was quite surprised with two people I get on very well with. When I sent a request back, they readily accepted again. If they didnt want to be my friend, why would they accept my friend request so quickly? So that thing about the truth hurting, the truth is in the comments of these honest Facebookers, askabouttech. And you probably are hurting which is why you havent replied to any of these commenters. Idiot.
Many of my friends repeatedly disappear (including my wife and my best friend), sometimes several times in the same day. These people’s accounts are active, they have not deleted me, and I have changed my password repeatedly. This answer is pretty much a copy of the answer provided on Facebook’s help page and I don’t accept either one.
This is only happening with one person, and it’s the same one every time. But they seem to reappear within a few minutes? O.o But it still is annoying because every time I think, “Ahhh did they block me? D:” So yeah… Facebook, fix the bug. >.< OR WE'LL JOIN A DIFFERENT SOCIAL NETWORK!

This is so stupid, i deactivated my account for two days, and when i reactivate it my girlfriend disappeared from my friends as if i blocked her or as if she blocked me. But i talked to her and she never blocked me. wtf is going on facebook fix this!
