If you mean deleting files like demo’s, videos, music and pictures choose the file you want to delete by browsing to it on the PS3 menu and press the “triangle” button scroll down to “Delete” than “X” button to confirm the deletion.
Or if you want to erase everything on the drive you can reformat it. This will erase all your data, so back up anything you want to keep. This is perfect way to get rid of personal data if you’re selling the PS3.
Scroll to Settings > System Settings > Format Utility > Format Hard Disk.
