“Are there any other cords that would charge a ps3 controlled? I’ve lost mine.”

The PS3 controllers uses the the standard mini-usb to USB cords like the image above. It’s exactly as the name implies, one end has a regular USB that plugs into any USB port and on the other end is a mini USB which plugs into a device such as the PS3 remote.
The good news is that many other devices use that same cord. If you own other devices that requires you to plug into your computer such as a digital camera, mp3 player you may already have one lying around. If one end fits into the PS3 than chances are good that it will charge the controller.
I use a mini-usb cord that came with my DV camcorder to charge my PS3 controller through the computer and it works great. My computer is always on so why not charge my controllers while I’m at it. I find it better than leaving my PS3 player on to charge the controller.

OMG! Thank you so so so so much! Dud, this saved my life. I didn’t know you could use just any cord. I’m using my PSP cord now.
wait how many hour do you charge the ps3 controller ?
I’m in a spot at the moment…there’s not a single damn USB to mini-USB chord in my possession…due to them being forgotten in places and “loaned” out to friends. I do however have like five mini-USB cellphone chargers, from various Motorola and HTC smart phones. These however do NOT work, which kind of baffles me. Standards are supposed to prevent this situation from happening
Oh well, till I find one of those cables all my PS3 is good for is playing bootleg DVDs >_>….cause they’re the only ones I have that autoplay.
——-> Arkasai,
Those are usually considered MICRO usb, not mini usb. Thus the difference.
usb
mini usb
micro usb
